This camp is open to all athletes (Males and Females) in the Bellmore-Merrick community grades 7 through 12 (Mepham, Calhoun, JFK, Grand Ave & Merrick Ave). No experience is needed! The camp includes eight (90 minute) sessions that are coached by two of the districts high school coaches. The camp will be held in the Calhoun gymnasium. It is recommended that you have your own racket but rackets will be provided if you do not own one. In this camp we will cover the following - * Basic badminton gameplay rules and etiquette * Introduce short and long serves * Introduce Clear, Smash, Drop, Net shots (with different variations based on ability) * Introduce footwork drills * Singles and Doubles movement drills * Differentiated gameplay based on ability *
